Drawing inspiration from the Maison’s heritage, the Bouton d’or jewelry collection is today enriched with luminous interpretations that play on overtones of pink and white gold. The five new pieces celebrate the rounded lines of the Paillette motif. From the working of the precious metal to the intricate assembly of different elements, each of them reflects the virtuosity of Van Cleef & Arpels.
Delicate interplays of color
The Bouton d’or collection takes on a hint of gentleness and luminosity, with an original combination of materials setting an elegant modern tone. On a necklace, a ring, a bracelet, earrings and a pendant, pink and white gold form a joyful pairing enhanced by the intense sparkle of diamonds.
This effect is complemented by the alternating colors of pastilles and closed settings, which create a delicate succession of shades. The gold’s twin colors shimmer in the light, setting to an interplay of gentle reflections. This attention to color is supplemented by intricate three-dimensional volume: whether concave or convex, the Paillette motif provides the pieces with fluidity and relief. Adorned with a diamond at their centers, these elements repeat to form a necklace that hugs the contours of the neckline, a subtly asymmetric bracelet or earrings that seem to dance in unison with their wearer’s movements.
In all, five new creations join the existing Bouton d’or creations, characterized by an association of diamonds with mother-of-pearl, carnelian and pink gold or onyx, chrysoprase and yellow gold.
Last month, the collection was further enriched with a watch, whose rounded lines combine the sun-like gleam of yellow gold with the brilliance of diamonds. Adopting the Paillette motif’s graphic aesthetic, this watch is a harmonious match for the Maison’s yellow gold pieces, from Bouton d’or to Perlée.
