For Spring/Summer 2020, KAGE revealed its pledge to work toward reducing their environmental footprint through the introduction of sustainable fabrics. This topical move is one that is extremely important to KAGE’s creative director Basma Abu Ghazaleh. “We’re always setting new goals for ourselves and this move is a step in the right direction on our journey to better our commitment to the environment,” she says.
KAGE reasserts the labels signature sense of unruffled cool, with a compilation of effortless, easy-to-wear silhouettes. The collection adopts playful navy and white prints featuring plant motifs and polka dots made from recyclable fabrics using organic cotton.
There is an emphasis on timeless yet contemporary designs to encourage longevity, limiting unnecessary landfill waste, a principle applied to all of their collections. The stunning lineup consists of cropped tops featuring tie-front details, streamline trench jackets and billowing maxi dresses. More conventional pieces like midi skirts and trousers have an appealing fluidity to them. Textured fabrics showcasing detailed flower motifs, hand-made fabric buttons and laser-cut textiles work to elevate, while the inclusion of lime green and neon pink hues add an uplifting energy.
KAGE’s newly launched fashion jewellery takes a sunny turn with sorbets shades of apple, lemon and orange that speak to summer. Silhouettes echo those from previous collections with the brands signature shell motif on show with refined updates in design.
