Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center is proud to present one of its major productions this year chronicling the journey of veteran Kuwaiti singer Abdul Karim Abdul Qadir, who has been enchanting audiences and enriching the Kuwaiti music library for the past 60 years. Abdul Karim, as his admirers refer to him, was able to present different forms of traditional Kuwaiti art forms such as Samri, Khammari, Lewa, and Tambura, in addition to his distinction in presenting more modern forms of music. Music of the evening will be performed by a group of creative Kuwaiti artists accompanied by Kuwait National Orchestra.
Sting

Composer, singer-songwriter, actor, author, and activist Sting was born in Newcastle, England before moving to London in 1977 to form The Police with Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers. The band released five studio albums, earned six Grammy Awards and two Brits, and was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.

K-Files
What: Exhibition by Tarek Al-Ghoussein
Where: CAP Kuwait
When: Opens 5 January 2017
Al-Ghoussein’s ‘K-Files,’ is shot entirely in Kuwait, and was the first of his photo series to focus on a single city. Al-Ghoussein has said of his work, “It is not about me, it is about a figure or a person, an actor in a scene and it explores the identity of the land and how we define ourselves through the landscape.”
Evita

Following its smash hit run at London’s Dominion Theatre, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s EVITA is set to thrill audiences once again. Evita tells the famous story of Eva Peron, First Lady to Argentine president Juan Peron, who has dedicated her life to charity and has been heralded as the ‘spiritual leader of the nation’.
